PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

a

"We teach students before curriculum. We reach souls before standards. We teach character before content. In that order, or it's not teaching at all."

- Dr. Chris Emdin

Dear Memorial Middle School Community,

I am honored to welcome you to Memorial Middle School for the 2024-2025 school year. During the past two years as assistant principal, I’ve learned from our brilliant students, dedicated staff, and vibrant Willingboro community. These experiences have only deepened my commitment to fostering the beloved community we envision, and they will guide us as we seek transformation for and with our young people.

Our vision for the Memorial community is rooted in three powerful words: Adapt, Believe, and Connect. These guiding principles will frame our decision-making processes and lay the foundation for a rich and enduring partnership between the Memorial Team and the Willingboro community:

Adapt: We will refine our teaching practices to ensure students meet grade-level standards while supporting them where they are.

Believe: We will nurture and cultivate the innate genius within each student.

Connect: We will build meaningful relationships with our students, their families, and the wider Willingboro community.

Leadership is not confined to job titles or positions—it is a mindset, a way of being that permeates every aspect of our lives. As students, teachers, coaches, partners, and parents, we all have the responsibility to lead by example, to take ownership, and to positively influence those around us. For our school to achieve its maximum potential, we must embrace our shared responsibility for leadership.

Think of our school as an orchestra where each musician brings their unique instrument, skill, and passion to the ensemble. When we all operate in our zones of genius, our combined efforts create a beautiful melody that resonates deeply, inspires others, and leaves a lasting impact that we can be proud of.

Let us commit to this vision together, knowing that with each of us playing our part, we will create a harmonious and thriving school community.

With great anticipation for the year ahead,

Bobby Morgan

Principal, Memorial Middle School
